Happy Mother’s Day weekend, everyone!

We hope you have lots of fun family time planned together this weekend – and remember our advice about what Mom REALLY wants this year! Now, let’s get to it!

Have you checked out all the amazing workshops and session happening at Close to the Heart (not to mention all the awesome things for sale at the shop!)? Larissa and her team have a few things up their sleeve this weekend, including a mothering workshop led by Pickle Planet friend Dr. Sarah Hardy Walsh, baby sign language with the awesome Laura Martin, kids painting with Marley, and so much more!

Weather permitting, the Royal Astronomical Society of Canada and Astronomy Moncton will be at the observatory at Moncton High School on Friday night. Check their event for updates!

If you’re looking for THE place to be on Saturday morning, it’s the Moncton Coliseum for the Spring Moncton Multiples Consignment Sale! More than 200 families are selling their gently-loved children’s items – get your kids’ entire summer wardrobe, toys, shoes, books, and so much more! Be sure to check the Facebook page Friday night for a sneak video peek – and watch for your chance to pick up a #MonctonMom t-shirt in the Vendor Market!

Lots of fundraising happening this weekend for the Rebecca Schofield All World Super Play Park! (Did you know construction is set to begin in June – and they’re looking for volunteers!) Wee College Trites & Wee College White Pine are holding a pancake breakfast and raffle Saturday morning for just $5/person. Later in the day, JusRun for a Reason is taking place, a 5km run (or walk!) to raise money for the playground rebuild, too. It’s also Frank L Bowser’s annual Spring Fair on Saturday; lots of fun for all, including a BBBQ, games, and more.

There are lots of specials around the community for Mother’s Day dining, including brunch at Broadleaf Ranch. If you head that way, be sure to check out our latest playground profiled, in Hillsoborugh!

Also, we know everyone is looking for a 2019 list of summer camps in the Moncton area; we’re working on something for you, we promise! It’s a tricky task. We found more than 100 camps last year and are guessing there’s just as many this summer; researching them and listing them in a way that helps you literally takes days and days. That’s a lot of free time that just hasn’t been in the cards lately. (This is our gentle reminder that no one pays us each week to create this round up, or any of the other seasonal lists, playground profiles, etc. We do accept sponsored posts and make a few dollars a day – exactly that much, not enough for a latte a day – from the ads you see on the site, but it’s hard to carve out the time to make time-intensive posts when there are bills to pay.)

Have a wonderful weekend, everyone!
