16 Things to Do with the Kids in Moncton This Weekend (Feb 22-24)

The last full weekend of February is here and it’s full of fun!

Winter Carnivals are still taking place throughout our region, so get out and enjoy the fun.

Memramcook’s 9th Winter Carnival continues this weekend, with Family Day on Saturday. Stop by Abbey-Landry School from 9am until noon. Bouncy castles, face painting, hot chocolate, sleigh rides, Science East, Fit Rocks, and more, all free of charge. On Sunday afternoon, enjoy a concert at Monument-Lefebvre with Roland et Monsieur Crapaud; admission rates range from $5 to $10.

Sackville’s Winter Carnival is filled with family fun, including Friday night’s outdoor dance party at Bill Johnstone Memorial Park, ice carving, a snowshoe obstacle course, log tossing competition, and fireworks at 8:30pm. Saturday features an ice sculpture workshop, the annual Family Fun Day at Beech Hill Park, a movie at the library, a family swim at MtA, and more. Sunday includes the Town vs Gown charity hockey game, skating, swimming, Make Something Sunday, and a presentation by the skating club.

Cap-Pelé is also celebrating Winter Carnival, with a LEGO event Saturday morning, a free family concert on Saturday afternoon in the inflatable igloo with Roland et Monsieur Crapaud, and much more!

Now, on to the other weekend events!

Fridays are for Fun on Ice in Dieppe – but time is running out! The Friday night music and skating parties end on March 1! This week it’s DJ Madness starting at 6:30pm at the Place 1604 Oval.

Cineplex’s Family Favourites feature this weekend is Johnny English Strikes Again. Just $2.99 at 11am on Saturday morning.

Toys R Us is holding a Beyblade tournament on Saturday, as well as celebrating National Hockey Card Day.

Saturday morning is the regular Chinese storytime at the Moncton library, featuring an hour of stories and songs in Mandarin. Call 869-6000 ext 2 to register.

Chapters Moncton is celebrating the release of The Good Egg on Saturday morning with a storytime with crafts.

Petitcodiac Baptist Church is holding a community family fun day on Saturday afternoon at Petitcodiac Regional School. This free event includes bouncy castles, face painting, games, and more.

This Saturday at Resurgo Place, see what bridge creations university teams create with uncooked spaghetti and glue! And don’t forget to check out the traveling exhibit, all about the night.

If you’re looking for something for YOU, consider grabbing one of the few remaining tickets for Work of Heart on Saturday. This is a fantastic day filled with inspiring talks, motivational moments, and a great way to kick start yourself toward whatever change you need.

Saturday is the kick off for the much-anticipated musical presentation at the Capitol, Beauty and the Beast! There are shows through until March 3 but very few tickets remaining!

Dance Creation is hosting a Daddy Daughter dance at the Moncton Wesleyan Celebration Centre on Saturday night. Learn a variety of dances with games and demonstrations, enjoy snacks and a photobooth, and more.

The last Snow Motion Sunday is this weekend, with special activities happening at the Ian Fowler Oval in the afternoon.

The Moncton Magic play a home game Sunday afternoon; always a great time to get out and cheer on the home team.
