We’re ringing in the New Year with changes and resolutions, are you? One of my resolutions is better time management – and part of that plan includes streamlining the weekend roundups. Expect things to be shorter & sweeter on here this year, but you can still find our great lists of ongoing activities to round things out.
Here’s what we’ve got for you this weekend:
What’s more fun than taking the family to Fun on Ice?! Each Friday from now until March 31, the City of Dieppe hosts a free, outdoor concert at Place 1604. Enjoy bonfires and free hot chocolate, and of course the new oval for skating! Music starts at 6:30pm and goes until 8pm. The fun kicks off this weekend with Jean-Marc Cormier and Melanie Morgran performing.
The Moncton Miracles are heating up home court this week. They have four games scheduled in just six days, with two of those taking place this weekend. On Friday they play the Halifax Hurricanes on Friday night at 7pm, and at 2pm on Sunday they host the Niagara River Lions. Let’s get out and show the Miracles their community supports them!
Saturdays are a great time to stop by Michaels and bring the littles to the Kids Club. You can help them craft or explore the store while a lovely paper mitten banner is created. Sessions begin every half hour from 10am until 11:30am. Cost is $2 per child.
Our public libraries are always a great place to check for free family fun. This Sunday, the Moncton Library is showing The Secret Life of Pets. Everyone is welcome – and you’re encouraged to bring snacks! The movie will play in English at 1pm, and in French at 3pm.
Need to bust a move? There’s A Rock Show for the Kids happening in Sackville on Sunday night! Klarka Weinwurm and her band, Scott Brown & Luke Patterson, will be rocking out at Thunder & Lightning starting at 5pm. Admission is free; there will be drink specials (Shirley Temples) and food available to purchase.
