Parents, don’t sweat the big stuff when it comes to getting ready for the very first day of first day of school. The big stuff can all be worked out – if you can pay attention to the practical stuff. Going solo to the washroom. Walking and timing the route to school or the bus stop. Opening lunch cans. Zipping up coats. These skills are more important for starting school than counting to 10 or writing their name.
