Things to Do with the Kids in Moncton This Weekend (March 23-25)

March is quickly coming to an end, with Easter sneaking up on us NEXT weekend! Are you ready for it? Check out our Easter Round Up for some ideas on things to do and ways to celebrate! For ideas this weekend, read on – and remember to share with your friends if you find this useful. These round ups take hours to create and are posted for free for all to enjoy. It’s another wonderful weekend at our province’s maple sugar camps. The City of Moncton runs its own sugar bush, open daily to the public from 11am to 4pm, with weekend guided tours at 11am and 2pm. You might also enjoy a visit to the Stilesville’s Pancake & Pure Maple Syrup Brunch, Renton Brothers Family Sugarbush, and Trites Maples. More on all of these options on our M is for Maple post!

Friday is the annual STEM East Expo; open to the public Friday afternoon at NBCC Moncton. See what students in Grades 3 to 12 are exploring in science, technology, engineering, and math.

Bricks 4 Kidz in Riverview is starting a new session of Friday night Robotics classes. Aimed at children ages five through 12, with two levels of experience offered. The classes run until June.

The Boys and Girls Club of Dieppe is holding a Hawaiian Beach Party on Friday night. There’ll be pizza, snacks, tropical drinks, beach volleyball, karaoke, face painting, and more. Cost is $4 per person; call 506-857-3807 for more info.

Bass Pro Shops is offering photos with the Easter Bunny starting this Saturday at 11am and going until next Saturday, March 31. Check the store’s site for all the details on photo times, packages available, and crafts, too! There’s also an Easter Egg Hunt planned for next weekend!

You can also catch the Easter Bunny at Queen Elizabeth school’s Bunny Trail Market on Saturday.

Space Jam is the family favourite feature at Cineplex this Saturday. $2.99 tickets; 11am showing.

Toys R Us is holding an Easter EGG-splore event at the store this Saturday, from 11am until 1pm. There’s a LEGO scavenger hunt and minifigure for participants, a Hatchimals activity and colleggtibles giveaway, as well as hands-on fun.

Michael’s has two Easter-themed workshops this Saturday: yarn chicks for the morning Kids Club craft and an egg decorating session that afternoon. Click through to the store’s site for details on times and pricing.

Scholar’s Choice’s Smart Saturdays will have an Easter theme this weekend.

Ventus Machina will be performing at Resurgo Place on Saturday morning (included with admission); a great chance for the family to get up close with amazing musicians!

With April Fool’s just around the corner, Resurgo Place is making Prank Water Bottles during their crafternoon sessions this weekend. Included with admission!

MacArthur’s is hosting a Maple Taffy Day on Saturday. You can enjoy free taffy on the snow and some product samples from Briggs.

The Ukrainian Club of Moncton is co-hosting a pysanky (Ukrainian Easter Egg) workshop at the Moncton Library on Saturday, for ages 13 and older. Register by calling 869-6000.

Cap-Pele is hosting the Easter Bunny on Saturday. Stop by the municipal building for crafts, photos, and a mini petting zoo with baby chicks and rabbits. Free event, from 1pm to 4pm.

Riverview Superstore is holding an all-ages Easter cake decorating workshop on Saturday. Cost is $15 plus tax per child; adults must remain with children under six. You get to bring your cake home!

Looking for some Easter goodies? Check out the amazing local vendors at the Hello Spring! Bazaar on Sunday afternoon, noon until 4pm at 145a Lakeside Drive, Riverview. More than 50 vendors; admission is a freewill donation to support the rebuilding of the All World Super Play Park at Frank L. Bower Elementary.

Want to enjoy the bazaar kid-free? Sign them up for a Monster Painting Party with That Art Thing and PC Cooking School at Riverview Superstore! This is a two-hour, drop-off painting session; cost is $25 plus tax. Register to secure a space by contacting the store.

The Moncton Public Library is showing Shaun the Sheep as its free family movie on Sunday; 1pm in English, 3pm in French.

The annual Princess Tea Party fundraiser for the Children’s Wish Foundation of Canada, New Brunswick Chapter is taking place Sunday with a live stage show, activities, treats, and more. Two sittings; limited space. Cost is $39.

The Magnetic Hill Zoo continues its winter openings this Sunday, from 11am to 3pm.
