Storm or no storm, the weekend is coming!
Are you back in routine? Still staring at the Christmas tree and letting the kids run wild for a few more days? Bunkered down with Storm Chips and enough water to last for days? However you’re spending your time, we hope it’s with a smile. If you’re looking to get out and about with the kids this weekend, here’s a quick look at what’s happening. Friday morning you can enjoy a free family skate at the Shediac arena from 9:30am until 10:30am.
Friday there’s a free public skate at Riverview’s Byron Dobson Arena from noon until 1:30pm.
Dieppe is FULL of family fun on Friday, with free skating sessions, kids ringette and hockey times, public swims, and the Friday night Fun on Ice at Place 1604. Entertainment this week by Mix Tape. You can also enjoy public swimming on Saturday and Sunday, too, as well as more skating times on Sunday!
Resurgo Place has lots of great activities on the go, including a Lava Lamp Experiment on Friday afternoon and a Melting Snowman activity on Saturday and Sunday.
The Moncton Public Library is holding a musical storytime on Saturday morning.
If ice fishing is on your bucket list this winter, be sure to stop by Bass Pro Shops this Saturday for free seminars from a local pro – including details on where to fish locally!
A simple Snowman Canvas is on the schedule for the weekly Kids Club session at Michaels on Saturday morning.
Saturdays are Family Night at Poley Mountain, with deals on lift tickets from 4pm to 9pm.
Skating is free for families from 6:35pm to 7:35pm at the Shediac arena on Saturday nights.
The Moncton Wildcats take on Acadie-Bathurst Saturday at 7pm. High school students showing ID can attend for just $5!
The Moncton Public Library is holding an African storytime (French) on Sunday morning.
Sleigh rides are scheduled to return to Dieppe this Sunday! The rides are offered between 1pm and 4pm on Sundays until March. The cost is $2 per person (children under two are free). (Group bookings can also be arranged, at a cost of $150 with a room rental for just $30 more!) Rides are approximately half an hour in length and take place at Rotary Park.
Sunday it’s an all ages skateboarding day at the Riverview Skatepark, open 1pm to 9pm.
The City of Moncton invites everyone to swim at the YMCA (with their shallow kids’ pool!) on Sundays from 2:30pm to 4:30pm for just $2 – no membership required! This Sunday you can also check out other parts of the facility, as the Y is hosting a free Open House.
