What to Do With the Kids in Moncton This Weekend (Nov 3-5)

I don’t know about you, but it’s been a long week here at Pickle Planet HQ. I think everyone is looking to lay low, finish off what’s left of the Halloween candy, and prepare for winter. And prepare we must – especially for next weekend, when Anglophone East students have both Friday, November 10 and Monday, November 13 off. We’ll try to get a super-duper round-up out a bit early to help with that, but in a pinch you can check out our list of ongoing events & attractions.

Also be prepared for Sunday – when the clocks ‘fall back!’ Yes, 2am Sunday morning will magically become 1am Sunday morning, which means those little faces that are usually peering over your bed at 6am will start showing up at 5am. Wondering how to navigate this, especially if you’re still dealing with nap times and solid schedules? We’ve got a few tips!

We also have five event to help you get through this weekend. Let’s get to it!

Feed the family and don’t worry about the clean up – all while helping out a great cause! There’s a fundraising pancake breakfast at the Riverview Lions Club on Saturday morning, supporting the rebuilding of the All World Super Play Park. Kids under five eat free! A family of four is $20; kids are $5 and adults $7.

It’s always lots of fun at Resurgo Place – even more when the mobile Homarus Eco-Centre lab comes to visit! Stop in Saturday from 10am until noon for a special aquatic display about the Northumberland Strait. Regular admission rates apply. (Did you know there’s a special family rate on Friday afternoons?)

The Moncton Library is holding a musical story time on Saturday morning at 10am & an African Storytime on Sunday morning at 11am. (This is a French event; no registration required.)

This week’s Family Favourites $2.99 Cineplex movie on Saturday is The Nut Job 2.

It might sound early, but you can get your photo taken with Santa at the Wintergreen Fair this weekend! You can visit and take your own photo, or let the talented Heidi-Lyn take a professional photo and email you the file for $5. Available Saturday and Sunday from 1pm to 3pm. The fair is open 10am to 4pm at the Moncton Lions Club. It’s one of the best holiday markets around!

Rather do your shopping from home? There’s a great online auction happening on Facebook to support the Early Childhood Family Resource Centre; it ends Sunday at 7pm, so be sure to jump on and bid on some fabulous items while supporting a great organization in our community.

A small list this week, but remember to check out mega list of fun places to take the kids for more ideas, like bowling, swimming, indoor play, arts & crafts, and more!

Psst! Moms! Looking for some time out before the Christmas rush? There are two great events coming up you should consider!

Join The Lady Boss Collective on Friday, Nov 10 at the Moncton Golf and Country Club for an evening of Women, Wisdom, and Wine, all while raising money for Moncton Headstart.

Next weekend, you’ll want to keep Saturday morning free for a little frugal shopping at the Grapevine Events Fall Pop-Up Boutique. Thousands of pre-loved women’s clothing, accessories, shoes, and more, as well as more than two dozen awesome local vendors. The sale is only open from 10am until 2pm on Saturday, Nov. 18 at Agrena C at the Moncton Coliseum, so make sure to make some time for yourself!
